New sails and great conditions…

New sails and great conditions…

Until now we had a nice spring here in Austria. Many days with warm temperatures and wind for small sails, that´s what I like!! The biggest change for this season is that I´ll use Gaastra sails. In Slalom I´ll use the Vapor and for Freestyle and Wave I take the IQ. Now I get supported by Tabou/Gaastra/Upsidedown.at and Triggernaut.

Donau Hochwasser 15.01.2011

Sonne, Wind und kaum was los.

Addition to the PWA Worldcup Sylt 2010

Here is a short movie about the Slalom Team Austria at the PWA Worldcup in Sylt 2010.
It was my first time in Sylt and it was really great up there. We had a super nice apartment right next to the equipment tent. We could sail 7 races and I finished 49th. I´m happy with that result because it was my first time competing in Sylt and the conditions were really tricky…

Windsurfing in Vienna…

Early this month I was trying something new! Windsurfing in Vienna…
The wind blew from a western direction and it was super warm weather. I decided to hit a spot on the Danube in the middle of Vienna, together with Kerstin, Marco Lang and Max Brinnich. It was super gusty but great fun to sail in a megacitiy like Vienna. After playing around for more than 2 hours we could enjoy a perfect sunset…

Slalom training at Zicksee Austria

In August I had a great Slalom-session together with the other Austrian racer Manuel Zugsbratl  (AUT 230).
We where sailing in the shallow and flat water of a lake called Zicksee.
I was on my 7,0 and my Manta 65 using a 40cm Deboichet fin…

A super nice article from the PWA event in Fuerteventura, which was shown in the Austrian TV

Slalom training @ Zicksee…

On Tuesday I had a nice trainings session on Zicksee together with Manuel Zugsbratl and Marco Lang.
I was on my big slalom gear and it was really well powered up. We had 2 buoys where we fight around for more than 2 hours. Later that day, back in Podersdorf the wind picked up to 41kn in the gusts. Therefore I took my smallest board an my 5,9 and it was perfect… In 2 weeks the worldcup in Fuerteventura will start and hopefully I will get a place to start there!!!

Wooohooo it was sooooo nice!!

Last weekend was amazing!!! We had such nice conditions at Lake Neusiedl…
Saturday morning it was perfect for 8,4 and the manta 79  full power! In the afternoon I switched to 7,0 and the Manta 65. That´s such a nice combination!! I was out for about 5 hours and could train a lot. I am really happy with my jibing performance that day. Sunday was pretty much the same, just a little stronger. I was the whole day on my 7,0 but switched my boards a few times.
All in all it was a perfect training session for the worldcup in Fuerteventura mid July.

Lake Garda and Podersdorf…

Early this month I spent 4 days on Lake Garda together with my girlfriend Kerstin. We went to Malcesine where we found nice conditions for the big stuff. Unfortunately my boom broke on the last day… Kerstin spent also some time on the water. She went out by boat and made a 3h downwind session. All in all we had a great time on a beautiful lake. Back in Austria we had some nice wind as well. Some day’s south wind and some thunderstorm sessions. My new Blackdiamond Fins work great together with the Tabou boards therefore I really looking forward to the upcoming events…

cruising on L.G.

testing the new IQ´s during a thunderstorm…

Once again nice wind in Podersdorf!!!

Once again we got pretty nice conditions in Podo.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday warm and nice weather and wind from 9-20kn.
Most of the time I was on the big slalom gear, therefore I could use my new Blackdiamondfins.
Man, those fins are sweet!! They provide good speed and a lot of power in every situation. In super light conditions I took my K 48. For that reason I was able to plain as early as never before. The K 46 is perfect for a nice allround and hi wind setup. As the wind got stronger I took the smaller slalom gear and put my S1 34 in the Manta. This Fin is a true Speed fin, not so easy to ride, but provides a lot of control and awesome speed. I really looking forward to the next sessions on the lake…
